He spent most of 2004 with Fort Myers, posting a batting line of .271/.350/.312 while backing up at all three bases as well as the outfield. He had hit .257/.359/.339 in his US career with 61 steals in 77 tries.

Brett was Australia's primary left fielder in the 2004 Olympics but went just 2 for 16 with 4 walks at the plate, stealing one base. He scored four runs in nine games. As a late substitute in the Gold Medal game (Paul Gonzalez started in left), he singled off Adiel Palma in his lone at-bat in Australia's 6-2 loss to the Cuban national team.

Tamburrino was 2 for 15 with 4 walks and 2 runs in the 2006 Claxton Shield; he did not play in the event in 2005 or 2007.
