Biographical information

Drew Anderson had a cup of coffee in the majors with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2006.

Drew hit .293/.370/.366 as a college freshman at the University of Nebraska and .266/.378/.319 the next year. As a junior, he batted .238/.324/.341, yet was chosen by the Brewers in the 24th round of the 2003 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Harvey Kuenn Jr. and debuted with the Helena Brewers, batting .318/.420/.425, better than he ever had in college. Anderson spent 2004 with the Beloit Snappers, putting up a .307/.372/.410 line and stealing 13 bases in 17 tries. His .995 fielding percentage led Midwest League outfielders and he tied Brian Dopirak for 7th in batting average.

In 2005, Anderson led the Brewers' minor league system with 158 hits. He batted .311/.360/.407 with 7 triples and 19 steals (in 27 tries). He was 4th in the Florida State League in batting average and led the league in hits. Drew split 2006 between the Huntsville Stars (.291/.359/.415, 17 steals in 25 tries in 108 games) and Nashville Sounds (.333/.348/.492 in 16 games) before a September call-up to the Brewers, for whom he went 1 for 9 with 3 runs scored in 9 games. Anderson was 5th in the Southern League in batting average that year. In 2007, Anderson spent most of the year back with Nashville, where he hit .276/.324/.395 with 16 steals in 21 tries in 108 games while fielding .994 in the outfield. He also played a dozen games with Huntsville in mid-season, hitting .444 with a pair of 4-hit games with the Stars. Prior to the 2008 season, he was claimed on waivers by the Cincinnati Reds. In 2010, he was hired by the Brew Crew as a scout, working in the midwestern United States.
