Dee Poindexter
Biographical Information[edit]
Dee Poindexter was a minor league player and manager of the Deadball Era.
Poindexter split 1902 between four Texas League teams, hitting .206/?/.242 in 56 games. He batted .265/?/.341 for the 1903 Fort Worth Panthers; his 20 doubles tied Clyde Bateman for third in the TL. He hit .268 for Fort Worth in 1904. In '05, he hit .221 and slugged .279 between Fort Worth and the Temple Boll Weevils. He batted .206 for the 1906 Cleburne Railroaders; in the low-offense era, his 115 hits tied Walter Salm for 4th in the TL. He hit .180 and slugged .217 for Temple in 1907 and also managed the Corsicana Desperados part of the year. He hit .324 for the 1909 Ellsworth Worthies and .267 for the 1910 Ellsworth Blues. He managed the 1911 Manhattan Maroons, 1912 Tyler Elbertas, 1912 Texarkana Twins (part of the year), 1913 Texarkana Tigers (part of the year), 1914 Waxahachie Buffaloes (part of the year), 1915 Kaufman Kings and 1916 Waxahachie Athletics.
