Biographical Information[edit]
Dechinsuren Bat Ochir was the starting left fielder for the Mongolian national team in the 2014 Asian Games. He went 0 for 6 with four whiffs and had two errors in seven chances, fairly typical for a team that hit .044/.104/.044 and fielded .783. Hitting cleanup, he struck out against Xiang Zhang and Yu Liu of China in the opener and made both of his errors. He also pitched the 4th inning after relieving Munkhbat Dashzeveg, allowing a hit, four walks and five runs while striking out one; his 45.00 ERA for the event was the second-highest of the five hurlers they tried in the Games; Battushig Munkhbat relieved him and finished with the higher ERA (infinity). His strikeout of Wei Dong was one of just three whiffs for Mongolian hurlers (Dashzeveg fanned two Pakistani hitters).
Bat Ochir's second game was against Pakistan. Hitting second, he went 0 for 2 in a no-hitter by Adil Sardar. In his third game, he hit third and struck out twice against Takayuki Kato of Japan.
