Biographical Information[edit]

Munhbat Dashzeveg has played for the Mongolian national team.

A member of the Ulaanbaatar Tigers, Dashzeveg was the second-youngest player for Mongolia in the 2014 Asian Games. The 18-year-old started as pitcher against China in their opening 15-0 loss; he allowed 5 hits, 10 walks and 8 runs (7 earned) in 3 innings before switching to left field, with LF Dechinsuren Bat Ochir taking over on the mound. Dashzeveg had a putout, two assists and two errors as a pitcher that game. At the plate, he drew a first-inning walk from Xiang Zhang and later was retired; the walk prevented China from a perfect game.

The next day, he started at shortstop in a 25-0 loss to Pakistan before relieving Javkhlan Ulziibayar. He struck out once against Adil Sardar and drew a walk, one of only two Mongolian walks in another no-hit loss. He had two putouts, three assists and three errors. On the mound, he allowed 14 hits, 5 walks, two hit batsmen and 16 runs (15 earned) in 2 1/3 IP.

In their third game, a 21-0 defeat at the hands of Japan, he went the distance and surrendered 18 hits, 21 runs (14 earned), 5 walks and two hit batsmen. He again led Mongolia's offense, singling off Takayuki Kato in the 4th inning for their first hit of the Asiad; they did manage one more hit later, by Unubold Oyunbaatar. He also had two assists.

Dashzeveg finished with half of Mongolia's two hits in the 2014 Asian Games, two of their three walks (Oyunbaatar had the other one), going 1 for 4 with two walks. His five errors led the team. He pitched 10 1/3 of their 13 innings as well, with 37 hits, 45 runs (36 earned), 20 walks, 6 hit batsmen, two wild pitches, two balks and two whiffs. His 32.40 ERA was around the team total of 32.54.
