Biographical Information[edit]
Adil Sardar set a record for fastest pitcher in Pakistan at 81 mph. The southpaw pitched for the Pakistani national team in the 2014 Asian Games. He relieved Tariq Nadeem in a loss to Japan, allowing 5 hits, a walk and 3 runs in the last two innings as Pakistan avoided a mercy rule loss with a 9-1 score. In a 25-0 romp over Mongolia, Sardar dazzled with a no-hitter, walking only two and fanning eight. His 3.86 ERA was 16th in the Asiad, between Jae-hak Lee and teammate Muhammad Usman; of pitchers from countries outside the big four (Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan), only Chanatip Thongbai of Thailand had a lower ERA.
He was not as sharp in the 2015 Asian Championship, allowing two runs (one earned) in one inning against Japan, two runs in 2 2 /3 IP (4 BB, 4 H) against eventual champion South Korea) and 8 runs (7 earned, 8 H, 4 BB) in 3 innings in a losing start against Taiwan. He did not face the two weaker teams in the event, China and Indonesia; his 13.50 ERA was second-highest on Pakistan in the event; only Muhammad Asif was higher.
