Biographical Information[edit]
Muhammad Asif was an outfielder with Pakistan for the 2007 Asian Championship and 2010 Asian Games. By the 2015 Asian Championship, he was a pitcher. He relieved Adil Sardar against Taiwan and allowed 10 hits, two walks and six runs in four innings, though he did fan four. He was worse against Japan with 7 hits, 9 runs and 3 walks in one inning. He had Pakistan's highest ERA in the tournament.
In the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, he pitched one game. He relieved Asrar Ahmad in the 5th against Great Britain, two on, one out and a 7-0 deficit. He allowed five hits, three walks and five runs (four earned) in 2 2/3 IP (both inherited runners also scored) to end the game, which finished early due to the mercy rule. This time, he was 3rd on Pakistan's staff in ERA (they used five hurlers in the event).
