Biographical Information[edit]
Dan Shwam spent 16 seasons managing in the Independent Leagues. He managed 10 different teams and won three championships. Since 2010 he has managed in the summer collegiate leagues. In 2014 he accepted the managers job with the startup Gem City Thunder, an independent summer team, but they cancelled the season before it began. Shwam began his baseball coaching career as batting coach for the Salt Lake City Trappers in 1988-1992. He has also scouted for the Montreal Expos , Florida Marlins and Milwaukee Brewers. Shwam coached baseball and basketball at Rowland Hall-St. Mark's School. His father is Ron McBride, the former head football coach at the University of Utah.
