Biographical Information[edit]

Cody Chartrand has pitched in Germany and the Netherlands.

Chartrand was 5-0 with a 1.94 ERA Lewis-Clark in 2014 and was taken by the Texas Rangers in the 36th round of the draft that year. An arm injury followed and he never played in the Rangers' system before being released. In 2015, he pitched in the Dutch minors, posting a 1.64 ERA for the Oosterhout Twins.

Cody signed with the München-Haar Disciples of Germany for 2016. He was 3-3 with a 4.54 ERA. Possessing a British passport, he joined the British national team for the 2016 European Championship. He was 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA in two starts, losing to the Czech Republic (4 R in 4 IP before Greg Hendrix relieved) but tossing six shutout frames before turning out over to Conrad Cornell in a win over Croatia, Britain's first in six games in those Euros. They then won their last game to avoid relegation to the B-Level Euros for 2017. He led the staff with 7 strikeouts, one more than Hendrix.

Chartrand remained with the British team for the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. He got into one game, relieving Paul Kirkpatrick in the 6th with a 13-0 lead over Pakistan. He retired Faqir Hussain and Ubaid Ullah on grounders then struck out Muhammad Sumair Zawar. In the 7th, he was replaced by Vaughan Harris. For the event, he faced the most batters of any British pitcher not to allow a baserunner.
