Biographical Information[edit]

Paul Kirkpatrick has pitched for the British national team.

Kirkpatrick was 11-6 with a 1.98 ERA in high school. As a freshman at Wake Forest, he was 3-2 with a 6.61 ERA. He transferred to McLennan Community College and went 4-3 with two saves and a 6.09 ERA in 2015-2016.

He then joined Great Britain for the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, having been born in London. He pitched in two games iun the event. Against Pakistan, he relieved Greg Hendrix in the 5th with a 10-0 lead. He retired Fazal Ur Rehman, allowed a single to Umair Imdad Bhatti then got a double-play grounder from Burhan Johar. In the 6th, Cody Chartrand relieved. Kirkpatrick would get credit for the win, Hendrix not having worked the requisite 5 innings to get the victory. In the finale, versus Israel, with a spot in the 2017 World Baseball Classic at stake, he took over for Hendrix with a 7-1 deficit in the bottom of the 8th, one out and two on. He retired former major leaguer Nate Freiman but then allowed a two-run double to Charlie Cutler before retiring another former big leaguer, Cody Decker.
