Chris Siegfried was a minor league pitcher for five years. He took part in two combined no-hitters.
Siegfried was 2-3 with a 7.94 ERA as a college freshman, walking 32 in 28 1/3 IP. He improved to 1-0, 6.28 as a sophomore and 1-2, 5.20 as a junior. The Chicago Cubs, behind scout Al Geddes, took him in the 11th round of the 2007 amateur draft, one pick after David Lough. That summer, he appeared for the Boise Hawks (0-1, 4 Sv, 2.35 in 14 G) and the Peoria Chiefs (2-0, 5.59 in 10 G), with 25 walks in 42 1/3 IP. On August 25, he teamed with James Russell, Matt Maradeo and Jose Ceda in a no-hitter against Beloit.
He bombed at 5-7, 6.30 with a .316 opponent average for the 2008 Chiefs. Chris split 2009 between the Chiefs (0-2, Sv, 3.38 in 20 G) and the Daytona Cubs (3-2, Sv, 3.38 in 12 G). His second no-hitter came on August 15, a 7-inning 4-man job against the Dunedin Blue Jays; he teamed with fellow Daytona pitchers Craig Muschkom, Oswaldo Martinez and David Cales. He was again the second of the four pitchers in a no-hitter. He went 3-7 with a save and a 4.26 ERA in 46 games for Daytona in 2010. In 2011, he was 1-1 with a 3.46 ERA in 9 games for the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks.
Overall, Siegfried had gone 14-20 with 7 saves and a 4.64 ERA in 142 minor league games (19 starts). In 294 2/3 IP, he allowed 299 hits and 125 walks while striking out 224.
He later was a candidate on the TV Show "The Bachelorette".
