Biographical Information[edit]

Chia-Hung Chen played in the CPBL for 5 years. His uncles are CPBL infielders Kuo-Ching Kao and Chien-Lung Kao.

Chen represented Taiwan in the 2003 World Port Tournament. He was on Taiwan's roster for the 2003 Baseball World Cup, but he tested positive for a banned substance prior to the event; Chao-Ping Chen replaced him. The Chinatrust Whales then drafted in the second round of the 2003 CPBL Draft, and he hit .237/.294/.394 in his rookie year. He improved to .261/.317/.376 with 8 homers in 2005, then he recorded a .233/.284/.333 batting line in 2006. Chen then hit .269/.319/.427 in 2007, and his batting line was .241/.282/.371 in 2008. The Whales expelled him due to game-fixing scandal after the 2008 season, and his professional career ended.

Overall, Chen had hit .249/.302/.379 with 265 hits and 25 homers in 5 seasons in the CPBL.
