Biographical Information[edit]

Cheng-Feng Lin pitched in the CPBL for 10 years. His repertoire includes a slider, changeup, sinker and fastball (peaked at 91 mph).

Lin was drafted by the Uni-President Lions in the second round of the 2004 CPBL Draft, and he had a 0-1 record with a 4.62 ERA in his rookie year.. In 2007, the right-hander was 2-0 with a save and a 5.86 ERA. He was 5-3 with a 3.19 ERA over the course of the 2008 CPBL season. Lin pitched career-high 50 games in 2009, but his ERA rose to 6.07 though he mainly pitched in low-leverage situations. 2010 is the first effective season for Lin, as he pitched 47 games with an elite 2.56 ERA. He was also selected into the 2010 CPBL All-Star Game, and he got the win with a shutout inning. However, Lin was suffered from left knee injury, didn't play any games on 2012, and the Lions released him on the end of this year.

The EDA Rhinos signed Lin in 2013, and he pitched well in the first season with them, collected 11 holds in 48 3/2 innings with a 3.70 ERA. The veteran reliever played 12 games in the next year, and had 50 appearances in 2015, but his ERA was terrible 5.94. Lin retired after 2016 season, and served as pitching coach for the Fubon Guardians from 2021 to 2022.

Overall, Lin was 22-23 with a 4.49 ERA, collected 60 holds in 314 appearances, struck out 256 and pitched 427 innings in 10 seasons in the CPBL.
