Biographical Information[edit]
Charlie Adamson has pitched for the New Zealand national team.
Adamson hit .315 as a high school senior, leading his league in homers and RBI and making All-League. [1] He allowed one run in 1 2/3 IP as a college freshman and two runs in one inning as a sophomore. He was one of five US-born players on the New Zealand squad in the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers alongside Zaid Flynn, Ryan Sanders, Kris Richards and Max Brown. In the qualifiers, he was a bright spot in their opening 12-7 loss to Brazil. Relieving Jimmy Boyce in the 4th with a 6-3 deficit and one out, he retired Leonardo Reginatto and Christian Lopes to end the inning. In the fifth, he retired Lucas Rojo and allowed a Márcio Kikuchi single then got Fernando Luciano to ground into a double play. In the 6th, he struck out former major leaguer Paulo Orlando and Gabriel Maciel and got Vítor Ito on a fly, having retired all eight batters he faced. Eugene Gay replaced him with the score still 6-3 in the 7th. Only Sanders pitched more innings for New Zealand. [2]
