Biographical Information

Bryan Chi has pitched in Cuba and for the Cuban national team.

Chi was 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA in the 2017 U-18 Baseball World Cup, losing to Japan. He had a 13.50 ERA in seven games for the Industriales de La Habana in the 2017-2018 Cuban Serie Nacional. He was 1-3 with a 5.87 ERA in 2018-2019.

In 2019-2020, he had a 7-5, 3.27 record though he walked 55 in 110 innings. He led the league with 18 wild pitches, tied Wilson Paredes for 2nd in walks (3 behind Geonel Gutiérrez), was third in Ks (behind Yariel Rodríguez and Carlos Juan Viera), placed 4th in mound starts (19), ranked 6th in ERA (between Vladimir Baños and Carlos Santiesteban), was 8th in winning percentage (between Alberto Bicet and Frank Medina), was 9th in fewest hits per inning and was tenth in innings pitched. He allowed two runs (one earned) in 6 1/3 postseason innings. He was on Cuba's roster for the 2020 Americas Olympic Qualifier before it got canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chi went 4-3 with a 2.94 ERA for the 2020-2021 Industriales then had a 1-0, 2.77 postseason record. He was with Cuba for the Olympic Qualifier when it was finally played in late May, relieving Lázaro Blanco with a 4-0 deficit, two outs and two on in the 4th against Venezuela. He walked Juniel Querecuto but retired Robinson Chirinos to escape the jam. After Cuba got two runs, he retired Carlos Pérez but Diego Rincones and Alexander Palma singled to chase him in favor of Andy Rodríguez. He started against Colombia and got Cuba's lone win of the event, allowing four hits, one walk and one run in five innings before Yudiel Rodríguez relieved. Cuba failed to qualify.

He was 1-2 with a 4.45 ERA in the 2021 U-23 Baseball World Cup; 11 of the team's 24 players defected from Cuba following the event, the largest defection in years.

He was signed by the Texas Rangers on July 10, 2022 and began his minor league career in 2023. He was 3-3 with a 3.51 ERA in 14 games (6 starts) between the ACL Rangers and Down East Wood Ducks.
