Biographical Information[edit]

Diego Rincones has played in the minors and for the Venezuelan national team.

Rincones was signed by San Francisco Giants scout Edgar Fernandez in July 2015. [1] He hit .244/.346/.343 in his pro debut that summer, for the DSL Giants. He still came to the US a year later and improved to .308/.372/.428 for the AZL Giants. He just missed the Arizona League top-10 in batting average. He was one of the AZL All-Star outfielders, alongside Heliot Ramos and Justin Jacobs. [2]

He hit .315/.357/.455 for the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes and hit 15 doubles and 7 homers. He was among the Northwest League leaders in average (5th, between Owen Miller and Wander Alexander Franco), doubles (tied for 10th) and assists by an outfielder (11, 1st). He was named to the NWL All-Star team, joining Luke Morgan and Otto López in the outfield. [3] He was 3 for 17 with a homer that winter for the Bravos de Margarita.

In 2019, he played for the Augusta GreenJackets (.295/.346/.415 in 105 G) and San Jose Giants (.247/.375/.384 in 19 G). He was second in the Giants chain in hits (136, 7 behind Mike Gerber), second in doubles (12 behind Gerber) and was 4th in RBI (65, between Gerber and Zach Green). He then played for Venezuela in the 2019 Premier 12, getting 2 of their 5 hits against Taiwan and adding a 3-hit day for Puerto Rico to finish at 5-for-7. He tied Luis Castro for the most hits on the team. [4]
