Biographical Information[edit]

Brian Fürböck has played for the Austrian national team.

Fürböck hit .276/.429/.414 for the Baldham Boars in the German minors in 2021, playing mostly center field. He was 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA. [1] He was with Austria for the 2021 European Championship; he was not the only player in the tournament who had spent the summer in the German minors as Alejandro Torres-Skerrett and Antonio Torres-Skerrett of the Greek national team also had played there. He debuted against Bronze Medal winner Italy, relieving Paul Astl with a 10-1 deficit in the 6th. He retired Dario Pizzano, walked Vito Friscia, got Alberto Mineo on a grounder, walked Alessandro Deotto and struck out Federico Celli; all three players he retired had minor league experience. Alessandro Zoufal relieved in the 7th. His other game was a start against Russia and he struggled, lasting only 2 1/3 IP and allowing three hits (including a Geidys Soler dinger), six walks and five runs; he left with the bases loaded but Fabian Hirnschal escaped further harm. He took the loss against Dmitry Shtykher. He did strike out three (Nikita Monakhov, Cuban league veteran Yunior Valiente and former indy leaguer Viacheslav Vasilev). [2]

His brother Justin Fürböck joined him on the team in '23. [3]
