Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Brandon Bouillon made his South African national team debut in the 2009 Baseball World Cup, striking out in both at-bats. In the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, he struck out in his only at-bat. He split right field with Brett Willemburg in the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, going 1 for 12 with a run and a RBI while fanning five times. His lone hit was off New Zealand's Riki Paewai, scoring Kyle Botha.
He hit .375/.615/.375 in the 2019 Africa Cup Baseball Championship with 6 RBI and 5 walks in 5 games. He tied for 4th in the event in walks (behind Hamidou Kafando, Junior Zabre and Tyler Croft) and tied Tommy Kefa, Jonathan Phillips and Marc Quickfall for 10th in RBI, while South Africa won it to advance to the 2019 Europe/Africa Olympic Qualifier. He started in right for South Africa in that event, hitting .333/.474/.333 with two steals in three tries and three walks while handling 11 putouts. He had their only run against Spain and tied for the team lead in hits with Anthony Phillips. Among players with 10+ AB in the event, he was 4th in OBP, between Hendrik Clementina and Martin Červinka. He tied for 3rd in walks behind Danny Valencia and Drew Maggi and tied Martin Schneider and Jakub Hajtmar for the most swipes.
