Brad Purcell pitched in the independent leagues and the CPBL.
Purcell was signed by the Evansville Otters in 2002, and he was 5-2 with a 2.50 ERA. He went 8-5 with a 2.97 ERA for the Winnipeg Goldeyes in 2003, finishing 4th in the Northern League in ERA (between Kevin Foster and Heath McMurray). He allowed two runs in 6 1/3 IP for the Australian Provincials in the 2004 Claxton Shield. He had a 10-5 record with a 3.33 ERA in 2004, tying for 4th in the Northern League in wins, placing third with 119 K (after Hank Woodman and Jon Krysa) and 8th in ERA (between Todd George and Greg Bicknell). After having a 4.15 ERA in 2 starts in 2005, Purcell signed with the Chinatrust Whales. He was 2-3 with a 3.90 ERA in the rest of the season. Purcell was 2-4 with a 5.85 ERA for the Quebec Capitales in 2006.
