The Arvernes de Clermont-Ferrand play in Clermont-Ferrand, Auvergne at the Stade des Cézeaux (Cézeaux Stadium). They joined Division Élite in 2008 and went 15-25 their first season.

Founded in 1992, the team's official colors are yellow and black. The current president is Nicolas Pellet, and the team's coach is Martin Picard. The team is named for the Arverni, a Gallic tribe that inhabited the present-day region of Clermont-Ferrand. Wikipedia article on the tribe[1]

First season playing in Division Élite; went 15-25. Their operating budget was increased from €140,000 in 2007 to €190,000 in 2008, thus allowing them to bring in two Canadian players, Brett Murray (who previously played with the University of British Columbiia and Australia's Redcliffe Padres) and Doug Grant (also played with the University of British Columbia). The team finished second in group C of the Nationale 1 division with 16 victories and 8 losses. They qualified for the 2007 playoffs and won the Nationale 1 division championship title, winning against Compiègne in the finals at Pessac.

They moved up to division Elite in 2008.
