Doug Grant spent one season in France. He played college ball at the University of British Columbia from 2004-2007 [1].
He played first base and pitches for Arvernes de Clermont-Ferrand in Division Elite in 2008, hitting .250. On the mound, he was the club's ace, striking out 174 in 154 1/3 innings and posting a 2.45 ERA. He was replaced by Dale Brewer for 2009. [2] He was 10-7 for a team that otherwise was 5-18. [3]
