Biographical Information[edit]

Albert Bustillos pitched in the minor leagues and CPBL.

Bustillos was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 47th round of the 1987 Amateur Draft, and he was 6-3 with a 1.46 ERA in his first season for the GCL Dodgers. He was 8-4 with a 3.17 ERA for the Bakersfield Dodgers in 1989, and his ERA was 2.93 in 7 starts with the Vero Beach Dodgers. Bustillos then went 11-5 with a 3.04 ERA in Vero Beach in 1990, but he recorded a 6.48 ERA in 5 relief outings with the San Antonio Missions. He tied Mike James and John Knapp for 8th in the Dodgers chain in wins. He was 2-3 with a 1.48 ERA in Bakersfield in 1991, and he went 5-5 with a 4.65 ERA for the Missions. He reached AAA in 1992, and he was 1-2 with a 4.78 ERA in 26 appearances for the Albuquerque Dukes.

In 1993, Bustillos stayed with the Dukes and he went 2-1 with a 4.45 ERA in 20 games. He then had a 6.12 ERA in 15 games in Albuquerque in 1994, and his ERA was 3.15 in 16 games for the Missions. He went to the Colorado Rockies in 1995, and he was 8-4 with a 4.61 ERA for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. He slumped to 6-10 with a 5.23 ERA in 1996, then the Rockies released him. Bustillos then signed with the Brother Elephants of the CPBL, and he was 9-8 with a 3.63 ERA in 1997. He tied Lino Rivera, Wen-Po Huang, Hsien-Chang Chen, Feng-Yu Weng and Gabriel Ozuna for 8th in wins. Bustillos left the Eleohants after the 1997 season, and his professional career ended.
