Biographical Information[edit]
Abraham Rodríguez hit .255/.289/.355 with 30 runs in 55 games for the 2016 DSL Cubs 2 but did not play again until 2019, when he batted .204/.247/.329 in 44 games for the AZL Cubs 2. He fielded .970 in 41 games in left in his two seasons in the minors and .976 in 39 at 1B. In the 2021 U-23 Baseball World Cup, he hit .231/.286/.500 with two dingers and ten RBI in eight games for Panama; half the RBI came against rival Nicaragua. He fielded .981 at 1B. He tied for third in the event in homers. [1] During the 2023 Pan American Games Qualifier, he played for the Panamanian national team. He debuted against Canada, replacing José Mordock in left. He struck out against Phillippe Aumont and Michael Brettell. His only other game was against Peru. Replacing Erasmo Caballero late in a rout, he drew a walk from Renzo Meloni and was driven in by Jorge Bishop with the last run of a 9-0 win. Panama won a spot in the 2023 Pan American Games. [2]
