History, Comments, Contributions[edit]
On June 24th, the 2017 Oakland Athletics did something that had not been seen for over a hundred years when three different players hit their first career home run in a 10-2 win over the Chicago White Sox. Matt Olson hit the first two long balls of his career, Jaycob Brugman also went deep, as did Franklin Barreto, who was making his major league debut. Not to be outdone, pitcher Daniel Gossett recorded his first career win that year. The last major league team to have three players hit their first homer in the same game were the Kansas City Packers of the Federal League, on April 26, 1914.
