1962 American Association season
The 1962 American Association season was the 61st in the league's history, and ended with the Louisville Colonels winning their third straight league championship. The Colonels would go on to lose the Junior World Series.
With Houston becoming a National League city, the AA was again down to five teams. The Colt .45s put their Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City.
After the season, Louisville folded and the Dodgers pulled out of Omaha.
In November, George Trautman, a former AA president and head of the organization in charge of the minors (the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues), met with the AA, IL and PCL leaders for two days. On Thursday, November 29, the AA was dissolved, and its teams split up between the PCL and IL.
