The 1949 American Association season was the 48th in the league's history, and ended with the Indianapolis Indians winning their first league championship since 1928. The Indians became the first team in AA history to win a series trailing 3-0, beating the Minneapolis Millers in the league semifinals. Indianapolis went on to win the Junior World Series.
