Biographical Information[edit]
Hal Anderson (some sources refer to him as Harold Anderson) was a long-time minor leaguer and manager who came to the majors for a little over a week with the Chicago White Sox in 1932. During his brief stay, he appeared in 9 games in center field, rapping 8 hits, all singles. Anderson played in the American Association from 1926 to 1936, including in 1932, and later managed from 1937-1940 and 1947-1949. He also scouted for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1933 he played for the Columbus Red Birds, who won 101 games. He was second in the league in stolen bases with 32. He came back to manage the Red Birds in 1947-1949.
