1916 International League season
The 1916 International League season was the 5th season under the IL name. Urban Shocker set a IL record with 54 consecutive shutout innings. Shocker also led the league in ERA, which became an official statistic in the IL that year. With the Federal League gone, the IL returned to two of its historic homes, Baltimore and Newark, both of whom would remain for decades. The Buffalo Bisons repeated as titlists, again beating out Providence.
