Biographical Information[edit]
George "Hickory" Jackson played three years with the Boston Braves, mostly notably in 1911 when he hit .347 with 11 doubles in 39 games. The following year, 1912, he played as the regular left fielder, hitting 13 doubles in 110 games.
Jackson had a very long minor league career, beginning in 1906 as a pitcher for the Jackson Senators and extending all the way through 1932, the last seven years as a player-manager. Except for five years spent in Buffalo, almost all of his minor league career was spent in the South, mostly in Texas.
