Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Zach DeLoach was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 2nd round of the 2020 amateur draft out of Texas A&M University. When the COVID-19 pandemic had interrupted the 2020 college season, he was hitting .421 with 6 homers in 18 games.
He made his professional debut in 2021 with the Everett AquaSox of the High-A West, playing 58 games there before getting a promotion to the Arkansas Travelers of the Double-A Central. Overall, he hit .277/.373/.468 on 108 games, with 33 doubles, 14 homers, 84 runs scored and 59 RBIs. He was named the league's Player of the Month for June at Everett and a Mariners organizational All-Star. In 2022, he started off in Arkansas, which was now back in the Texas League and hit .258/.369/.409 in 114 games. He was promoted to the AAA Tacoma Rainiers in 2023, where he hit .286/.387/.481 in 138 games, with 90 runs and 88 RBIs.
Following the 2023 season, on February 3, 2024, he was traded to the Chicago White Sox along with P Prelander Berroa in return for P Gregory Santos. He was assigned to the AAA Charlotte Knights to begin the season and was hitting .263 in 38 games when he was called up to Chicago on May 22nd after Eloy Jimenez went on the injured list with a pulled hamstring. He made his big league debut starting in right field against the Toronto Blue Jays that same day. He went 0 for 3 with a walk in a 9-2 loss.
