Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Prelander Berroa was traded twice before making his major league debut with the Seattle Mariners in 2023.

He was originally signed by the Minnesota Twins as an international amateur free agent on July 2, 2016, then was traded to the San Francisco Giants alongside OF Jaylin Davis and P Kai-Wei Teng in return for reliever Sam Dyson on July 31, 2019. Three years later, on May 11, 2022, he was sent to the Mariners for IF Donovan Walton. He had to wait another year to make his debut, but was still only 23, having been signed as a 16-year-old. He only pitched twice for Seattle, with no decisions and no runs allowed in 1 2/3 innings during which he both walked and struck out two batters. He spent the remainder of the 2023 season in AA with the Arkansas Travelers of the Texas League, going 5-1, 2.89 in 43 games, with 101 strikeouts in 65 1/3 innings.

On February 3, 2024, he was traded to the Chicago White Sox alongside fellow prospect Zach DeLoach and a Compensation Round B pick in the 2024 amateur draft in return for major league reliever Gregory Santos.
