Biographical Information[edit]
Yi-Hung Chen has played for the Taiwanese national team.
Chen appeared for Taiwan in the 2014 U-21 Baseball World Cup. [1] In the 2015 World Port Tournament, he was 3 for 9 with 2 walks, 2 runs and a RBI. [2] He helped Taiwan finish 3rd in the 2016 U-23 Baseball World Cup. [3] He did very well as a 1B/DH for Taiwan in the 2017 World Port Tournament, producing at a .368/.500/.526 clip and hitting their only homer (off Japan's Takahiro Yamamoto) as they won it all. He was 10th in the event in average, 3rd in slugging (behind Shurendell Mujica and Masaki Otani), tied Dwayne Kemp for 4th in OBP and tied Yusniel Ibáñez for the home run lead. [4]
At the 2017 Asian Championship, he was 2 for 8 with two hit-by-pitches and a run. He sat out the Gold Medal Game loss to Japan, as Taiwan went to Chia-Yu Lin at 1B. [5]
