Biographical Information[edit]

Wes Griffin began his career as a spitball pitcher from 1914 to 1917. When he returned to organized baseball in 1920, the spitball was banned so he became a outfielder/second baseman. He was also a catcher in the 1930s. He remained in the high minors as late as 1933.

Griffin scouted in 1937-1938 and later was a Brooklyn Dodgers scout in 1954-1955. He was out of baseball in private practice from 1942 to 1948.
