Biographical Information[edit]

Wally Kincaid was head baseball coach at Cerritos College, from 1958 to 1977, and again in 1979 and 1980. During his time leading the team, the school posted a 678-163 record, won fifteen conference championships, and six state championships. He led the squad to an undefeated 40-0 record in 1966. Some of the notable players he coached include major leaguers Bob Apodaca, Ed Hodge, and Tom Nieto, as well as current Cerritos College coach Ken Gaylord. Kincaid also trained many other college coaches such as George Horton, Dave Serrano, Don Sneddon, Dave Snow, & Mike Weathers. Kincaid was inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2010. Kincaid Field at Cerritos College is named after him.
