Biographical Information[edit]

Second baseman Mike Weathers was chosen to represent USA in the 1970 Amateur World Series and they won the Silver Medal. He was drafted by the Oakland A's in the 1st round of the 1971 amateur draft (secondary phase) from Chapman College.

Weathers played in the A's organization through 1976, reaching AAA. He was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 1977 expansion draft. The Blue Jays traded him back to the A's in February of 1977 for Ron Fairly. He played in the A's chain through 1978.

Weathers began his coaching career as an assistant at Fullerton College in 1978-1979. He was the head coach at the University of Utah in 1980-1981. He returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach in 1982-1983 and as head coach from 1984 to 1991.

Weathers then moved to Long Beach State as an assistant under Dave Snow, who was a teammate at Cerritos College, from 1993 to 2001. He hwas the head coach at LBSU from 2002 to 2010.

He coached for Team USA when they won a Silver Medal in the 2003 Pan American Games then managed them to another Silver in the 2007 Pan American Games.
