Biographical Information[edit]
Don Sneddon coached Santa Ana College from 1982-2013, winning three state championships. He won 1,072 games as head coach of the Dons and is the winningest coach in CCCAA history. Sneddon started his coaching career at his alumnus Cal State Fullerton as an assistant coach in 1975-1976. He then moved to Santa Ana as an assistant from 1977-1981 before being named the head coach before the 1982 season. In 2014 he got his first chance to coach in professional baseball taking over the Modesto Nuts of the California League. He was also manager of the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League from 2017-2019, winning the championship in 2018. In 2020 he was selected to the ABCA Hall of Fame. Santa Ana's field is named after him.
As a player, Sneddon started his college career at Cerritos College playing under coach Wally Kincaid. He then transferred to Cal State Fullerton where he was the teams shortstop hitting .367 as a senior in 1974. He was also Cal State Fullerton's first All-American as well as Conference-MVP.
