Biographical Information[edit]

Vincenzo Aiello has pitched in the minor leagues (as high as four seasons in AA as of 2024) and for the Italian national team.

Aiello was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the 28th round of the 2017 Amateur Draft, and he notched 4 saves with a 2.33 ERA in 13 games for the Batavia Muckdogs in his first year while allowing 2 runs in 2 innings for the GCL Marlins. He then recorded a 0.50 ERA with 7 saves in 13 games for the Greensboro Grasshoppers in 2018, but his ERA rose to 4.76 in 24 appearances for the Jupiter Hammerheads. Aiello improved to a 3.38 ERA in 22 relief outings for the Hammerheads in 2019, and he recorded a solid 1.45 ERA in 15 games for the AA Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. However, the Marlins still released Aiello, and his ERA was 2.45 in 4 games for the New Jersey Jackals in 2020.

The Chicago White Sox signed him in 2021, but he missed most of the season due to injuries. He only pitched 4 games for the Winston-Salem Dash, and he allowed 2 runs in 6 innings for them. Aiello then signed with the Staten Island FerryHawks, and his ERA was 7.77 in 18 games. He then made it onto Italy's roster for the 2023 World Baseball Classic, but he didn't pitch any games. Aiello had a 7.12 ERA in 47 games for the FerryHawks in 2023, and he left the team after that season.
