McDuffie[edit]

I'm working on Terris McDuffie as a possible featured article. Do you know of a public domain picture of McDuffie? Also, do you know his exact date of death? - --Mischa 08:46, 27 May 2010 (EDT)

The article doesn't say he died in Bonifay, though, just that he was buried there. The place of death isn't clear. The sources I've found list New York, NY, but they also give May 1968, which is a month off. - --Mischa 20:37, 6 June 2010 (EDT)

1942 Series[edit]

I added the picture to the page. It's great to add a photo from the Series! - --Mischa 09:37, 27 October 2010 (EDT)

That's a great picture! Nice of them to release it for use in the Bullpen. Oaktree_b 21:29, 27 October 2010 (EDT)

1938 East-West Game[edit]

Thanks for your entry on the second 1938 East-West Game - I had everything else before 1950, but Lester's book didn't have the second '38 game. Also, 1938 lists a third game, at Penmar Park. Do you know anything about it? - --Mischa 16:48, 1 March 2011 (EST)

More Negro League data[edit]

Hi Couillaud,

Neil Paine from S-R here... Another user sent in some PDFs with NLB data for all the players on the 2005-2006 HOF ballot, and I can send them to you if you'd like to enter stats for some more players.

We plan on adding Negro League stats to the main site at some point, but in the meantime I always point users to the stats you added to the Bullpen. Great work! Neil Paine 15:53, 22 August 2011 (EDT)

In that case, I think it may be the data you already have. But if you want to take a look, email me at np@sports-reference.com, and I'll forward you the PDFs he sent us. Neil Paine 11:10, 26 August 2011 (EDT)

The Bells[edit]

I'm about to work on a bio of Cliff Bell. I know you were researching the claims about Cool Papa Bell and Fred Bell being brothers years ago - did you find out if Cliff is a brother to one or the other, as James Riley states? Also, isn't the new seamheads database just so cool? - --Mischa 21:04, 14 September 2011 (EDT)

Talk Pages[edit]

How do I archive my talk page? Also, thanks for the clarification at agatetype. - --Mischa 12:18, 17 October 2011 (EDT)

Author category[edit]

Our author category is for people who have published baseball books. Have Mr. Ashwill and Mr. Johnson done so? - --Mischa 15:21, 6 February 2012 (EST)

1942 in the Negro Leagues[edit]

Are you done adding to 1942 in the Negro Leagues? If so, I'd suggest putting it on the Template talk:Did You Know suggestions for inclusions - --Mischa (talk) 11:10, 6 June 2013 (EDT)

Great job tracking down the 1954 East-West Game. I'm sure it's hard to come by information on the Games from the last years of the Negro Leagues. - --Mischa (talk) 19:32, 6 June 2018 (UTC)

I haven't used the watchlists so can't help you with that one - --Mischa (talk) 23:33, 7 June 2018 (UTC)

My suggestion is to email Sean Forman, who is listed here as User: Admin - --Mischa (talk) 14:38, 10 June 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for all the work on the later East-West Games; great to hear Mr. Lester's revising his book. I got to hear him at the Wendell Smith discussion at the last SABR convention (it was in Pittsburgh so I was able to attend for a day without having to take a second day of work, make travel arrangements, etc.) I picked up a copy of Black Ball and the Boardwalk, which was very good. - --Mischa (talk) 20:40, 30 July 2018 (UTC)

Updating Negro League Pages[edit]

I'm working on updating all our pages on Negro League teams and players to reflect MLB's decision to recognize the principal Negro Leagues as major leagues. You can see my entry in the What's Happening section [1]. As part of that, I'm proposing to remove the detailed statistical tables on some of these pages that are your work, but I would want your input before proceeding. Please see: [2]. Thanks.
