The following are all the comments I've had between 2006 and 2009:
Welcome[edit]
Thanks for your contributions, especially re: the Negro Leagues. It's nice to have another contributor interested in black baseball. - --Mischa 12:36, 15 November 2006 (EST)
Lip Pike[edit]
I tried to clarify Lip Pike as suggested. Feel free to reword it. - --Mischa 12:04, 17 July 2007 (EDT)
Jake Stephens[edit]
A question about the 1924 Negro World Series. You list Jake Stephens as missing game eight due to injury, but Holway and Riley both list a case of nerves as the reason he missed. Which sources list injury? - --Mischa 12:24, 27 July 2007 (EDT)
Thanks for the information. I'm not surprised there are errors in Holway or Riley, as I've seen glaring ones. It's sad that even the best Negro League sources rely highly on anecdote and not enough on detailed research. - --Mischa 02:44, 29 July 2007 (EDT)
1924 umps[edit]
Who were the OB umps in the 1924 Negro World Series? Also, are you still planning to be in Pittsburgh this month? - --Mischa 12:09, 8 August 2007 (EDT)
Thanks for the notes on Gibson. BTW, how is your 1923 ECL project coming? I haven't heard anything for a while. - --Mischa 11:54, 11 September 2007 (EDT)
vandalism?[edit]
I don't think the current "vandals" are really vandals. I'm guessing it's a problem with some web browser or other issue as they have come from a wide range of IPs and don't appear malicious. We've blocked lots of these IPs but the problem persists. I've notified Sean Forman several times. - --Mischa 10:35, 1 November 2007 (EDT)
Big Bill Gatewood[edit]
I moved the Gatewood article as requested and also added a redirect to fix a few links to it. - --Mischa 12:04, 27 December 2007 (EST)
East-West Game[edit]
Lester lists Jonas Gaines as the winning pitcher in the 1942 E-W G; what is the source for Day? - --Mischa 21:03, 9 September 2008 (EDT)
Twenty-Fifth Infantry Wreckers[edit]
Did the Wreckers play other top black teams? If so, the Negro League team category makes sense. If such games were rare and they were never in a formal league (which had been my understanding), then they belong to the misc. teams category. If I was wrong, then you can change the category and I apologize. - --Mischa 15:08, 14 November 2008 (EST)
If the Negro League committee considers them Negro League teams, I think that's good enough for us. I think the "Miscellaneous" category is so wide-ranging because it is exactly that - a dumping ground for teams that don't fit in in any other category. - --Mischa 12:52, 16 November 2008 (EST)
Comment[edit]
Please comment on BR Bullpen:Featured Article Candidates/Beau Mills - --Mischa 20:21, 4 December 2008 (EST)
WS umps[edit]
Why are you linking to some of the Negro League umps and not others? They should all be notable IMO. - --Mischa 13:22, 25 March 2009 (EDT)
Thanks for the explanation. - --Mischa 13:47, 25 March 2009 (EDT)
The Biographical Encyclopedia of the Negro Baseball Leagues lists John Craig, Scrip Lee, Mo Harris and Fred McCreary as umps. Harris and Lee were also players. The Encyclopedia lists Win Harris as a player. As for Franklin Forbes, is that Frank Forbes? - --Mischa 21:06, 25 March 2009 (EDT)
There's nothing wrong with printing original research here. I think one of the NWS articles would be a good featured article down the line, when all of the dead links have been filled in. - --Mischa 16:18, 26 March 2009 (EDT)
Were all of the World Series called Colored World Series or just certain years? We should move the articles to the proper titles. - --Mischa 11:52, 27 March 2009 (EDT)
1923 in the Negro Leagues[edit]
I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for on the 1923 NNL standings table, but I made a minor adjustment which seems to look good to me. I'm sure there are other fixes that can be done also. --Jeff 13:37, 27 March 2009 (EDT)
Stats[edit]
The bottom line of stats doesn't show up on my computer because it's so dark. Could you color this differently? - --Mischa 13:21, 17 August 2009 (EDT)
I can read the per 162 game rates now but the season totals are still a no. - --Mischa 14:40, 17 August 2009 (EDT)
It's always been a problem - first time I mentioned it. - --Mischa 16:38, 17 August 2009 (EDT)
I had the problem on two different monitors. Working fine now. Thanks! - --Mischa 20:27, 17 August 2009 (EDT)
