Biographical Information[edit]
Tripp Haddad was All-State as a high school senior at Jesuit in New Orleans, which had produced several big leaguers. [1] He redshirted at LSU in 2022 then was 0 for 1 at Spring Hill College in '23. He then played for the Palestinian national team in the 2023 Asian Championship, representing a British colony that had been dissolved 75 years prior. He hit third and played short in their opener against Hong Kong. He flew out against Chun-Pui Mok his first time up but then singled the next. He had their lone hit against host Taiwan when Tripp tripled off Yu-Cheng Wu. For the event, he hit .273/.500/.455 but fielded .846. He tied Phoomwut Wutthikorn for second in errors, one behind double play partner Dylan Renard (who also had US collegiate experience), while he tied for the lead with one triple. He tied Yunis Haleem and Tariq Suboh for the team lead in runs (2), tied the same pair for third on the squad in hits (3), led them in total bases (5), had their longest hit and trailed only Suboh among their regulars in OPS.
