Biographical Information

Yu-Cheng Wu has played in the CPBL and for the Taiwanese national team.

Wu represented Taiwan in the 2018 U-15 Baseball World Cup. In the the 2022 U-18 Baseball World Cup, he was 0-1 with a 2.80 ERA in three games. He lost to South Korea. Taiwan won Silver. The TSG Hawks drafted him in the second round of the 2022 CPBL draft. Wu spent his rookie season with the Hawks in the minor league, having a 3-4 record with a 4.31 ERA. He ranked 6th in strikeouts in the minor league, 16 behind his teammate Po-Ching Chen.

The Taitung native then made it onto Taiwan's roster for the 2023 Asian Championship. He relieved Danny Chang in the 4th inning against Palestine, pitched a shutout inning and struck out Omar Shublaq and Yunis Haleem. He then started against the Philippines, completed 7 1/3 innings with only one run allowed and got the win over Juan Paulo Macasaet. Taiwan was beaten by Japan and won Silver in the event.

Wu made his CPBL debut on April 8 against the Fubon Guardians, and he allowed 5 runs in 5 innings to get the win over Kuo-Hao Chiang.
