One of the longest-running teams in Mexican League history, the Mexico City Tigers moved to Puebla in 2002. For their first year in Puebla they kept the "Mexico Tigers" name then in 2003 changed their name to the Angelopolis Tigers. They are now based in Cancun as the Quintana Roo Tigers.

During their long time playing second fiddle to the Mexico City Red Devils, they were also known as the Tigres Capitalinos (Capital City Tigers).
