November 27: Today's featured birthday is that of Ken Ray, who turns 50.
- 1957 - Hiromi Wada homers twice to lead the Nishitetsu Lions to their second straight Japan Series title, topping the Yomiuri Giants in the 1957 Japan Series. Hiroshi Oshita is named MVP.
- 1973 - The Yomiuri Giants win their ninth straight Japan Series title, the all-time record by a wide margin. The "V-9" Giants take the last game of the 1973 Japan Series, 5-1, with a homer from Sadaharu Oh. Tsuneo Horiuchi wins the Series MVP Award.
- 1993 - Kenjiro Kawasaki wins Game 7 of the 1993 Japan Series to give the Yakult Swallows their second title ever. It is Kawasaki's second win of the Series, earning him MVP honors. Shingo Takatsu nails his third save.
- 2001 - For the first time, a Major League Baseball game is played in November. Byung-hyun Kim blows a save for the second day in a row, allowing a two-run homer in the 9th to Scott Brosius to tie the score at two. The Yankees win in the 12th to take a 3-2 lead in the 2001 World Series.
- 2007 - The final game of the 2007 Japan Series makes history with the first perfect game in Series history as well as the first combined perfect game ever in Japan. Daisuke Yamai (pictured) gets the surprise start and tosses eight perfect frames for the Chunichi Dragons before manager Hiromitsu Ochiai yanks him with a 1-0 lead in the top of the 9th. Closer Hitoki Iwase comes on to finish the masterpiece, giving Chunichi its first title in 53 years.
- 2010 - Edgar Renteria's three-run homer snaps a scoreless duel between Tim Lincecum and Cliff Lee in Game 5 of the World Series. The Giants win their first World Series since moving to San Francisco in 1958.
