December 20: Today's featured birthday is that of Bill Laskey, who turns 67.
- 1902 - In a rare feat for the Deadball Era, Bill Bradley hits a home run for the fourth straight game. The next American Leaguer to do so will be Babe Ruth in 1918.
- 1935 - The first night game in MLB history is played with the Reds beating the Phillies, 2-1.
- 1936 - Tony Lazzeri (pictured) drives in 11 runs in a 25-2 Yankees rout of the Athletics. This is still the American League single-game RBI record.
- 1942 - In the longest game in Nippon Pro Baseball history, Taiyo and Nagoya tie 4-4 after 28 innings. Jiro Noguchi (344 pitches) and Michio Nishizawa (311 pitches) both go the distance. Noguchi had just thrown a shutout a day earlier.
- 1984 - The Tigers win their 17th straight road game, an American League record. Jack Morris picks up this victory with a four-hit effort.
