November 15: Today's featured birthday is that of Randy Niemann, who turns 69.
- 1926 - In one of the most famous blunders in baseball history, three Robins wind up on third base when Dazzy Vance, Chick Fewster and Babe Herman all occupy the base. Herman is out for passing a runner and Fewster is tagged out, while Vance takes the blame.
- 1987 - The Cuban national team loses a game in the Pan American Games for the first time in 20 years. Ty Griffin (pictured) homers with two outs in the 9th to give Team USA the win; Cuba will still get the Gold.
- 1996 - After the Chicago White Sox fail to offer 1996 amateur draft first-rounder Bobby Seay a contract within 15 days, he is declared a free agent, the first time a drafted player has become a free agent the same summer.
- 1998 - Masahiro Kawai lays down the 452nd sacrifice hit of his career, setting a new NPB record. He will later break Eddie Collins' world record.
- 2012 - Felix Hernandez tosses the first perfect game in Mariners history, denying the Rays in a 1-0 game.
