Biographical Information[edit]
Shuai Wang has played in the independent leagues and for the Chinese national team.
He was one of many Chinese players sent to the Texas AirHogs in 2019; at age 17, he was the AirHogs' youngest player. He was 0-for-6 but handled 7 chances error-free behind the dish and threw out the only runner who tried to steal. Wang also represented China in the 2019 U-18 Baseball World Cup, hitting .200/.226/.233 as their main backstop. [1] He then was with China for the 2022 Asian Games, backing up Ning Li. In his debut, he replaced Li in a win over Laos and doubled off Youtthasat Herpaoyang to drive in Nan Du. His only other plate appearance, he struck out against South Korea's Hyun-seok Jang. He had one putout and allowed two steals in two tries. [2]
