Biographical Information[edit]
Sheng-En Lin has played in the minor leagues. His cousins Cheng-Chun Yang, Tai-Chun Yang and Chang-Sen Yang pitched in the CPBL.[1]
Lin represented Taiwan in the 2022 U-18 Baseball World Cup. He beat Diego Luciani of Italy and Kazuki Kokai of Japan but lost to the US's Blake Mitchell in the finale. He had a 1.97 ERA. He was also 3-for-8 with two walks, a run and a RBI as a part-time outfielder. He tied Seo-hyeon Kim, Shao-En Lin and Stijn van der Schaaf for 3rd in wins. [2] The Cincinnati Reds signed him with a 1.2 million signing bonus on June 6; the scout was Jamey Storvick. Lin debuted with the ACL Reds, and he hit .214/.371/.286 there.
