Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Ruben Sosa began his professional career in 2011. He was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 23rd round of the 2011 amateur draft.

He began his career with 14 steals in 50 games, then had 15 swipes in 48 games in 2012. In 2013, he stole 18 bags in 62 games; he also reached Triple A for the first time that year, batting .272/.336/.376 in 46 games for the Oklahoma City RedHawks. After stealing 39 bases with 10 triples in 2014, he began 2015 in the Mexican League. On April 28, he was traded from the Diablos Rojos del Mexico to the Rojos del Aguila de Veracruz for Luis Fonseca. In late May, he joined the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim system. Between all his regular season stops, he had 26 stolen bases. He played for the Bridgeport Bluefish and Vaqueros Laguna to begin 2016.

Sosa played winter ball over the years, suiting up for the Tigres del Licey and Cangrejeros de Santurce.

Sosa moved into coaching as development coach of the Down East Wood Ducks in 2023.
