Biographical Information[edit]

Ru-Hao Liang pitched in the Taiwanese national team, the TML and the CPBL.

Liang represented Taiwan in the 1994 Baseball World Cup, 1994 Asian Games, 1995 Asian Championship and 1995 Intercontinental Cup. The Taipei Gida signed Liang when the league was founded in 1996, and he soon became the top local pitcher of the league. Liang was 4-7 with a 3.80 ERA in his rookie year, and recorded a 5-10 with 4.46 ERA in 1998. The Taipei native had a huge improvement in 1999. He collected career-high 14 wins with an elite 3.09 ERA, and won the Most Progressive Award. Liang extended his good condition in 200, had a 10-5 with a 3.06 ERA, and won his first CPBL Gold Glove award. In 2001, the ace of Gida lowered his ERA to a career-best 2.61 in 18 games, and collected eight wins. Liang's career year was 2002, as he led the league in strikeouts with 142 and got a excellent 2.90 ERA. He also led the league in losses with 11. Liang also made the roster for the 2002 Asian Games. In six years with the TML, Liang is the All-Time leaders for the wins, game played, inning pitched, walks and strikeous.

When the two leagues merged in 2003, Liang was assigned to the First Financial Holdings Agan. He was the first starter ever in the team history. Liang was 5-8 with a 4.79 ERA in 2003, and the same win-loss with a 4.84 ERA in the next year. The 32-year-old was turned into a relief pitcher in 2005, and he collected a hold and two saves with a 3.27 ERA in 11 games played. Liang's ERA rose to 10.45 in 2007, and he announced his retirement after the 2008 season. After retiring, Liang became a broadcaster and a youth baseball coach.

Liang's repertoire included a fastball (peak 92 mph), slider, curveball, forkball and sinker.

Overall, Liang was 61-67 with a 3.70 ERA and pitched 1097 1/3 innings in twelve seasons in the CPBL and TML.
