Biographical Information[edit]

Rob Kell pitched in the minor leagues and CPBL.

Kell was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 36th round of the 1993 Amateur Draft, and he had a 1.87 ERA in 18 games with the Erie Sailors in his first year. He recorded a 3.95 ERA in 38 appearances with the Charleston RiverDogs in 1994, and his ERA was 3.48 in 7 games there in 1995. He also pitched 11 games for the Port Charlotte Rangers, and his ERA was 3.05. Kell was 6-4 with a 3.81 ERA in Port Charlotte in 1996, and he had a 5-3 record with a 3.78 ERA with the Bakersfield Blaze. He reached AAA in 1997, but he struggled there as his ERA was 8.86 in 11 games with the Oklahoma City 89ers. He also recorded a 5.88 ERA in 28 appearances with the AA Tulsa Drillers.

The Sinon Bulls of the CPBL signed him, and Kell was 7-3 with a 3.03 ERA in 1998. He slumped to 2-5 with a 4.13 ERA in 1999, and the Bulls released him in the middle of the 1999 season. Kell then signed with the Lehigh Valley Black Diamonds, and he was 2-3 with a 5.17 ERA. He had a 1-4 record with a 6.27 ERA with the Allentown Ambassadors of the Northern League East in 2000, and his professional career ended.
